Make upholstery cleaning an integral part of your weekly clean
It really doesn’t take much to put the upholstery accessory on the vacuum and give the sofa and armchairs a quick run over every week, but this will make a huge difference to the look and lasting power of your upholstery. Plump the cushions and switch them around to get rid of wrinkles and check for spots and stains and you are done.
Tackle spots and stains as soon as you see them
Fresh stains are much easier to deal with when they are new and not old. Once a stain has set into the fabric or dried up it is much more challenging and can be almost impossible to remove. If you are checking the condition of your furniture each week you will see new stains almost immediately and they will be much easier to remove.
Put together a stain bucket
Gather some small white towels, a spray bottle with water and a a spoon and put them in a plastic bucket or container. This will be your stain bucket and you can add any great stain removing products that you find and that work.Eg some hydrogen peroxide and some Woolite are 2 good additions. When you have the stain bucket you are ready to deal with stains quickly and it makes the process so much easier
